Sapete quando si usa l’espressione “in your heart of hearts?
Questa espressione è usata per indicare che, un sentimento od opinione, è suggerita dal nostro istinto piuttosto che dalla ragione.
Esempio 1: It’s a wonderful job offer, but in my heart of hearts I don’t want to leave my current job. = E’ una fantastica offerta di lavoro, ma dal profondo del cuore sento che non voglio lasciare il mio lavoro attuale.
Esempio 2: I knew in my heart of hearts that something was wrong, but I just wasn’t ready to deal with it. = Sentivo che c’era qualcosa che non andava, ma non ero pronto ad affrontarlo.
